ABOUT HUNT MMA

Hunt MMA strives to provide our athletes a fun and challenging environment to train in mixed martial arts with other like minded individuals. With a focus on practical self-defense in hand to hand combat situations for the recreational athlete , we strive to embody the ethos of martial arts in all its forms. Borrowing techniques from many different martial arts, most notably Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and Boxing we believe every individual can discover techniques and movement patterns that compliment their body type and demeanour, making them the most efficient martial artist possible. After all, efficiency is the north star of any competent martial artist.

  • CAN ANYONE JOIN HUNT MMA, REGARDLESS OF THEIR FITNESS LEVEL OR PRIOR MARTIAL ARTS EXPERIENCE?
    Yes, anyone can join. Naturally, those who are athletically inclined and have prior Martial Arts experience will excel quicker, and those who are not will adapt their training practices accordingly.
  • DO YOU/WILL YOU HAVE KIDS CLASSES?
    Currently we do not have kids classes however beginning July 8th, 2024 we will!
  • WHAT SHOULD I KNOW FOR MY FIRST CLASS AT HUNT MMA
    If you have never trained in Mixed Martial Arts before, here are some things to be aware of. We always show respect to our training partners, we are thankful for their participation in our training, without the ability to train with them we would be inferior martial artists. Some housekeeping to be mindful of; Barefoot only on the training mats. Mouthguard's are not mandatory but encouraged during live sparring. Live sparring is not mandatory but encouraged, the level of intensity can be toggled up and down as desired, communication with our training partners is the solution. Most of us are recreational athletes and have to go to work/school in the morning, understand your skill and intensity level and communicate with your instructor and training partners if training adjustments are needed to accommodate. We refer to our instructor by their first name. What to wear: Grappling Class=rashguard/workout shirt that can be tucked in, and grappling shorts/Gi pants/spats/athletic pants or athletic shorts with spandex undergarments; Striking Class= Athletic apparel/hand wraps/ boxing/mma gloves/shin guards. For those without any gear, there is limited availability of gloves and shin guards supplied by Hunt MMA during their trial period.
  • WHY SHOULD KIDS TRAIN IN MIXED MARTIAL ARTS?
    Learning mixed martial arts (MMA) is invaluable for children, offering a blend of physical, mental, and emotional benefits that foster holistic development.   • ARE MEMBERS EXPECTED TO SHOW UP TO EVERY CLASS?
    No, whatever class you can make, you make. Most members start out at 1-2 classes per week, and for those of us that get the training bug, well... the more the merrier!
